Who We Are
Makerere Yamba Development Initiative is anon –Government charity in Uganda duly registered. It started way back in 2015 as a voluntary initiative by 3 people who committed resources to help out two widows whose husbands passed on due to HIV but had 4 kids whose school was no more for some time.
The drive to help these widows with school fees came from a similar background these volunteers had passed through when growing up.
The best way to ensure change in any community is to educate its children in a way that releases them to become responsible citizens.
In the localities we serve only 1 out of every three kids can afford to go to school.
Our goal is to ensure that every child can possibly have access to education a tool that empowers them to become responsible and able citizens.
What We Do
Orphanage Home Uganda
Uganda Childcare/Orphanage home accommodates children orphaned from natural circumstances like deaths of parent(s) as well as poverty related
Sponsor an Orphan
At $50 per month, child sponsorship is very possible and with more we are in position to create such a lasting impact for a child at our orphanage home

With our community outreaches, we empower various hurting communities in the further rural areas of Uganda. Join us and help create lasting impacts
Empower Young Adults
The discipleship and Leadership Training Program is designed to disciple young adults to become transformational leaders. They grow in leadership knowledge, skills, and values so they can become agents of transformation in their homes, schools, churches, and communities.
Child Protection
Girl child programs have been in place with the help of Action Aid Uganda and other government bodies. Little female children have been sexually harassed and at times sold of as dowry to mature men hence leading to early marriages.
Malnutrition and Hunger
Despite significant progress over recent decades, poor nutrition remains a colossal and universal problem with one with one in three people on the planet affected by some form of malnutrition.

Your sponsorship will give them access to basic healthcare so that when they are sick they have somewhere to turn, helping them with educational costs because school is beyond the means of their family, and providing the hope of the gospel through discipleship programs and leadership training, where every child is known, cared for, and shown the love of Jesus
